Cantabria is part of green Spain and this region is nothing like you have seen in Spain before. We have prepared a coastal walk by rocks and cliffs that will remind you of Cornwall and along golden sand beaches where you won´t have any problem finding your spot for a swim in the Cantabrian sea. You will also get the opportunity to explore Santander, one of the most beautiful cities on the northern Spanish coast as well as little charming inland village of Liérganes. Small family owned hotels as well as a 4**** spa and excellent northern Spanish gastronomy await you on this week long self-guided walk.

Day 1

Transfer with taxi to beach village of Liencres. Dinner on your own and enjoy the fresh evening by the Cantabrian sea.

Day 2

Beautiful mountain walk around Liencres to get the best view of the week-long program. Also a great way to get a little view of Spanish 20^th century history with the ruins from the civil war defending nests on the Picota mountain. See video

Day 3

Linear walk following the Costa Quebrada “The broken coast” all the way to Santander. You will walk by hide out pirate bays and green meadows on your way to the capital of Cantabria.

Day 4

Enjoy the day in the capital with a historical city walk and market visit! During the rest of the day just relax and enjoy the beach & several good lunch and dinner options.

Circuit city walk Santander – Magdalena península – Alto Miranda – Canalejas – Peña Herbosa – Pombo – Porticada – Esperanza market– Ayuntamiento – Cathedral – Jardines de Pereda – Paseo Pereda – Puerto Chico – Castelar- Reina Victoria

Day 5

From the city center and with the little Regina ferry to the other side of the beautiful bay to Somo and the rest of the beautiful and dramatic coastal and beach walk. Dinner at the hotel in the evening.

Day 6

Enjoy the beach in the morning before you continue inland and set for the little town of Solares where you relax at the traditional and luxurious spahotel Balneario de Solares. In the afternoon and evening you may take a stroll up to the beautiful gardens of the Finca del Marques de Valdecilla.

Day 7

From Solares we take you through and old mining area and  later you move on to the Pasiego valley of Miera and the beautiful village of Liérganes and the end of your Cantabrian adventures. Local specialties dinner.

Day 8
