Northern Spain or Green Spain is for most foreigners the unknown Spain. Basque Country, La Rioja, Cantabria, Asturias and Galicia offer in many ways an untouched haven, far from the tourist resorts of the Mediterranean. In Northern Spain, you can find landscapes that make you think of Ireland, the Alps or in some cases, even New Zealand. With a sublime gastronomy, it is impossible to think of any travel plan without focus on food and wine. This program begins in San Sebastian, a city open to the sea and the world thanks to its international jazz & film festivals, its exquisite cuisine and also its urban chic. We will spend time in Bilbao. You will get to know its history, the most emblematic sites of the town, museums and of course the different gastronomic highlights.
Cantabria is one of the smaller regions of Spain (5.300km ²), and perhaps one of the least known outside our borders. However, it is also for its variety of landscapes, human and artistic, one of the most beautiful and interesting.La Rioja is another small region in the North of Spain, with only 5.000km² and a little more than 320.000 habitants. Nevertheless, La Rioja is a great land. Great because of its history and culture and, of course, mother land of one of the finest wine territories in the world.
